Conditioning Your Hair

You should not apply conditioner every time you shampoo. Conditioners leave a residue on your hair, which makes them heavy and hair fall prone. Use it only twice a week.

How to use a conditioner?

Take pea size (not more than that) apply to the tips of your hair after shampoo, specifically avoid the roots unless mentioned on the product. Rinse off completely.

Oil Your Hair

Oiling hair is an essential part of hair care routine. It helps moisturize the scalp and strengthen roots of your hair. Best oil to use would be coconut oil. It contains medium chain fatty acids which penetrate scalp easily than other oils. Almond oil, castor oil and argon oil are few other oils which you can use.

So how many times a week should you oil your hair?

Thick hair: Twice a week for 4-5 hours is enough.

Oily hair: Twice a week for 3-4 hours.

Fine hair: Every alternate for 4 hours if possible. But that doesn’t seem achievable so thrice a week for 4-5 hours.

Normal hair: Thrice a week for 4-6 hours.


Hair Products

If you are a person who uses a lot of hair products, then take a minute to rethink. These hair products are leaving a residue on your scalp making it itchy, irritating and greasy.

You don’t want that. Okay, we get it, how are you supposed to get that perfect “just got out of the bed” look. Just remember less is more. Try to use hair products less number of times.

Take a break from using hair products such as hair gels, hair sprays, etc.
